Nobody knows what set her off. Maybe she does. Either way it doesn't matter, Sophie laughs the way some people run, like she's fully committed and there's no coming back from it halfway. Head back, eyes closed, the whole beach around her just doing its thing while she fills up all the space. The gold bangles catch the sun. The waves come in. She doesn't care who's watching.
